At the conclusion of the 2023 excavation, particular attention was given to the segment where the wall curved leftward as it extended north toward Welton Road from the interior area of the field. During this phase, archaeologists discovered a new outer wall. This structure appears to be a later addition to the original walls, which is evident from the fact that its foundation sits at a higher elevation than that of the main walls.
